Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the MO Gas Tax Refund Android application (the “App”) handles information. The App is designed to keep your fuel records on your device and does not require an account.
Information you provide
The App may store information you enter, including your name and contact information, vehicle information, fuel-purchase dates and quantities, fuel type, seller details, receipt information, and information needed to prepare a refund document. This information is used only to provide the App’s recordkeeping, estimate, and document-generation features.
Receipt scanning and camera access
If you choose to scan a receipt, the App requests camera access or lets you select an image. Receipt text is processed on your device to help fill in a fuel entry. The App does not upload receipt images to our servers. If you choose to save a receipt image to your device’s gallery, that copy remains there until you remove it.
Notifications
If you grant notification permission, the App may send local reminders about the Missouri filing window. You can disable notifications at any time in Android settings.
Purchases and Google Play
Paid access is processed by Google Play. Google may collect payment and transaction information under its own privacy policy. The App receives purchase status information needed to unlock paid features, but the developer does not receive your full payment-card details.
PDFs and files you export
Refund PDFs and other files are created only when you request them. You control where exported files are saved or shared. Once a file leaves the App, it is subject to the privacy and security practices of the location or service you choose.
Information sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The App does not send your fuel records to the Missouri Department of Revenue or automatically file a refund claim for you.
Data retention and deletion
App data remains on your device until you delete it through the App, clear the App’s storage, or uninstall the App. Exported PDFs and receipt images saved outside the App must be deleted separately from the location where you saved them.
Data security
Keeping records on your device limits unnecessary transmission, but no device or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your device with a screen lock and keep Android updated.
Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Independent service and disclaimer
MO Gas Tax Refund is an independent recordkeeping and form-assistance tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Missouri Department of Revenue and does not provide tax or legal advice. You are responsible for confirming eligibility and reviewing all information before filing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App’s features or privacy practices change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
